Quilt Preparation Guide

Preparing your quilt top for longarm quilting is an important step to ensure the best results. Whether you’re a seasoned quilter or a beginner, following a few simple guidelines can make a big difference in the final look and quality of your quilt. By taking the time to prepare your quilt properly, you help us deliver a beautifully finished piece that you’ll treasure for years to come

Checklist before you send your quilt:

  • Press the quilt top and backing.

  • Trim all loose threads from the quilt top (we do our best to remove threads if we see them, but this should be done prior to shipping your quilt for best results).

  • Ensure that the backing is 4" larger on all FOUR sides to accommodate proper loading and clamping. For example, if your Quilt is 60*60, the backing has to be 68*68.

  • Do not baste the quilt together. Quilt top, backing, and batting must be brought in as separate layers.

  • Do not add buttons or other 3-dimentional items to your Quilt before quilting

  • Complete the Quilt Check-In Form.
